Nausea

Do you ever experience debilitating nausea that seems to never go away? It’s more common than you might think. In fact, about 30% of the people I work with manage some kind of nausea on a daily basis. I know firsthand how nauseating this feeling can be, as I lived with it off and on for 20 years.

Some of my clients have been trying to manage their nausea for years, undergoing every test under the sun, only to find that nothing out of the ordinary shows up. It’s frustrating, and it can consume every part of your life. You become hyper-aware of where the nearest bathroom or escape route is and make reactive, unpredictable changes to your daily routine just to accommodate this condition.

But I’m here to tell you that it is possible to manage this kind of nausea and regain control of your life. For me, nausea is now an indicator that I’ve pushed my body too hard, either by eating the wrong foods or exercising too much. I’ve learned to listen to my body and recognize the earlier signs before it gets out of control.

I’ve worked with many clients who have learned to be aware of what’s happening, put effort into what’s working, be open to the experience, and ultimately figure out what’s needed to get past their debilitating nausea and back to doing the things they love. One of my clients had a strong desire to run again, and with the right help and support, she was able to overcome her nausea and achieve her goal.
